The Basics of Family Planning Draft Curriculum

Community-Based FP Workshop Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

February 27 to March 4, 2006

The USAID Flexible Fund and CSTS+ developed and piloted a six-day course targeting managers of community-based FP programs and covering key components to consider in implementing quality community-based FP programs. Many organizations and individuals contributed to the development of the curriculum. Organizations contributing individual time, training materials and power point presentations include ADRA, USAID, Save the Children, CARE, the Info Project, MIHV, JSI, MSH, FHI, Catalyst Consortium, IRH Georgetown University, EngenderHealth, JHU/CCP, Access FP, the Acquire Project and many others. We are grateful to all of these organizations and individuals for their invaluable contributions.

At this link you may access the draft facilitator's activity plans, handouts and power point presentations used at the workshop. The curriculum is being revised and finalized based upon feedback from the workshop participants and facilitators and will be posted.

The curriculum is divided into the following five modules and sessions. You may click on each link to open/download the file:

Please contact Janet Meyers at Janet.L.Meyers@macrointernational.com if you have any questions or suggestions. We especially welcome feedback from those who use any of the materials.
